Apps

Over time, I have had the opportunity to work on a few apps. I don’t get enough time to do as much personal projects as I would like to but here are a few I have done so far. Feel free to reach out if you think I can help with something you are working on, I am always willing to contribute to efforts which create something of social value.

Khan Academy for Windows 8

Khan Academy is a phenomenon in education to change it for the better by providing a free world-class education for anyone anywhere. With a continuously growing library of over 6,000 videos on everything from arithmetic to physics, finance, and history and hundreds of skills to practice, they’re on a mission to help you learn what you want, when you want, at your own pace. Definitely check out their site and learn away.

I worked with the team at Khan Academy to develop the official Windows 8 app. The app doesn’t have all the features from site like exercises/practices and coach resources but you do get Windows 8 style browsing and learning experience with a capability to download videos and watch them offline.

Before creating the Khan Academy app for Windows 8, I created a Windows Phone app to get Khan Academy on phone. The app allows you to browse, download, search and watch videos to learn using full video library from Khan Academy.

Wallpaper Juggler for Windows

Back in Windows XP/Vista days, I created this fun little tool to download wallpapers and change wallpapers on regular intervals. The feature to download wallpapers was done to download a ton of wallpapers at once. When this tool was featured in life hacker, a lot of people ran it at the same time which created a tremendous load on the wallpaper hosting sites I was using. The sites eventually blocked the tool.

I haven’t updated the tool as there are in-built options to change wallpapers in Windows 7 onwards. You can download the tool from codeplex to use. If you need to remove the tool, just delete it from your disk and it will be gone. There are no special steps to uninstall it.
